![]() But I need to say THANKYOU to the incredible team at Broomfield hospital, St Marys and Great Ormond street. This past week has shaken our whole world as a family. "The main symptoms to look out for include a persistent high temperature, body rash, swelling and then peeling of the hands and feet, red blistered lips, bloodshot eyes, strawberry tongue, inflamed sore throat and Swollen lymph glands. It can also affect the blood vessels supplying the heart muscle when not treated early enough. This disease causes swelling of the blood vessels throughout the body. Kawasaki disease is a rare, non-contagious disease that only affects around eight in every 100,000 children under the age of five in the UK. She went on to explain: "Ron was diagnosed with Kawasaki disease, something I had never heard of before. What is happening to our son! Please tell me! After a couple of days, more symptoms appeared and results returned." We paced rooms and corridors for days just waiting for an answer, a result … anything! Seeing Ron this way kicked me with a fear and desperation I’ve never felt in my whole life. "The incredible doctors and nurses started every blood test and scan you can imagine. Ron was admitted and IV antibiotics started but NOTHING was working, in fact Ronnie deteriorated. Ron’s temp spiked 40 at home, I phoned an ambulance. But I just wanted to thank you all for so many kind messages and update you all. "We have spent the past 10 days living whats felt like a real life nightmare. 'We can go home now Mummy' Ron, you are SO brave, SO strong, SO loved and just beautifully unique darling boy," she started the caption of her post. ![]() Sharing a string of pictures of Ronnie during his lengthy stay in the hospital, Sophie penned a message to her 4.7 million followers. However, after a long period of silence on her usually active social media account, Sophie has returned with an update saying her three-year-old son was diagnosed with Kawasaki disease and admitted she had "never heard" of it until she was told it was what her young boy had. Join our new Coronation Street WhatsApp group by clicking here "Since having IV antibiotics we are seeing a really really slow improvement but we will be in here for a little longer yet, as we need to get his temperature satisfactory and need the antibiotics to kick in." So after phoning 111 we were taken back in and thankfully admitted. We were taken to A&E and sent home with antibiotics and it just didn't feel right. Sophie, who is also mum to younger son Lennie, went on to explain at the time, "Ron's temp spiked to over 40 and his neck was swelling, limited head movements, I couldn't keep meds or fluids in him. Last week, the influencer, whose real name is Sophie Hinchliffe, shared how her young son, Ronnie, had suffered a terrifying health scare. Mrs Hinch has opened up to her followers about the extent of her son's recent ill health as she shares his rare diagnosis.
